Most dryers can dry a full load of laundry in fewer than 45 minutes. If the load is still damp, the venting system is likely clogged and you’ll need to clean it out as soon as possible.
Your refrigerator’s thermostat should be set to 36 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately two degrees Celsius) and your freezer’s thermostat from 0 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 degrees Celsius). If your model does not have a thermostat, use a thermometer to check the temperature. Adjust the control as needed.
For a top loader, a general rule of thumb is to lay clothes loosely inside the washer until they reach the top of the agitator. For a front loader, fill it until it’s full, with minimal compression of the clothes.
We recommend the powdered/granular detergents (i.e. Cascade®). In recent years, we’ve found the pod-like, powder detergent-filled, dissolving packets to work well because they reduce the likelihood of using too much detergent. We’ve also found that prominent brands perform better than generic brands.
